SOUND HEALING

The name 'Sapacoya' is a compound of two Quechua words which calls back to Troy's Inca/Andean heritage and signifies the unity of masculine and feminine elements. This name allows him to honor the medicine traditions of his Peruvian ancestry, which were instrumental in his own healing journey.Troy studied sound healing at the Globe Institute in Sausalito, CA (a state accredited program.) He is a member of the East Bay Healing Collective in Berkeley and of a yet unnamed sound healing ensemble (pictured above) which aims to offer regular events starting Nov. 2023.He specializes in working with trauma/abuse survivors, those struggling with addiction, neurodivergence, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and auto immune disorders. His work focuses on understanding and healing familial and generational trauma. He is an LGBTQIA+ ally.He uses several modalities in session and plays a variety of instruments, including crystal singing bowls, Chinese gongs, Tibetan bowls, tuning forks and percussion instruments. However, he specializes in the use of the human voice to facilitate the healing process and is a practitioner of overtone singing. His sessions also involve Kundalini breathwork. He is currently accepting new clients for private individual sessions, or group sessions / sound baths.(Calendar coming soon!)
COMPOSING

Troy studied composition and electronic music under Paul Reller in the USF SYCOM program. He grew up as a multi-instrumentalist in rock and experimental bands and has written music for most of his life.Troy worked as a freelance composer and sound designer for games and apps before transitioning to work for the SF based Fintech, Stripe, where he's worked for over 8 years.Troy's current writing focus supports his sound healing practice—producing music which assists in the transformational healing process.
